What sets these two Google products apart from each other? A system called Google Ads enables businesses to bid against one another for advertising space in Google search results and on other Google-affiliated websites. Publishers and website owners can sell ad space to companies using the AdSense system. In other words, AdWords is free, but AdSense has the potential to be rewarding in terms of money. The key difference is that publishers use AdSense while advertisers use Google Ads.

To increase traffic to their websites, advertisers can place bids for ad placements using Google Ads, known as Google AdWords in the past. There are two possible locations for these placements. One is the Google Display Network (the network of websites, applications, and other online properties that display Google display advertising). Second is the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) of Google.
Users can post adverts using Google Ads on websites with material not found in search engines, such as Google.com, the Google Search Network, and the Google Display Network. Businesses use Google Ads to send targeted visitors to websites with the hope that some of this traffic will lead to purchases. Advertisers pay Google a certain amount for each ad click.
Publishers can use Google AdSense to display advertisements on their websites and other "real estate" in exchange for a "commission." These publications are a part of the Google Display Network, which advertisers can access through Google Ads.
Publishers can monetize their websites or blogs by collecting revenue from suitable Google Ads advertising which appears close to their content using the AdSense programme. The publishers receive a little payment each time one of these adverts is clicked. In the past, some marketers would use Google Adwords to drive attention to a website before inserting Adsense advertising to increase clickthrough rates and benefit from the difference between Google Adwords costs and Adsense earnings.
